On the morning of June 17, Hu Zhiyi, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Chongqing Normal University, together with Wei Jie, Dean of the College of Geography and Tourism, and Yang Yana, Deputy Head of the Department, visited the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Gou Xiaohua, Director of the Key Laboratory of Western China's Environmental Systems, Ministry of Education, China, Shi Zhaojun, Party Secretary of the School, Vice Dean Wang Xin, and Vice Dean Wei Keran attended the discussion.

At the symposium, Chongqing Normal University introduced its geography program development, research platforms, talent cultivation, and the operation of the journal Geography Education. The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences presented its current development in terms of the overall approach to discipline building, key research directions, distinctive development paths, student training, and graduate employment. The two sides then held in-depth exchanges on geography discipline construction and the cultivation of high-level talent.
