At the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Western China’s Environmental Systems (Ministry of Education), College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Professor Cheng Hai from Xi’an Jiaotong University, came to our university for academic exchange and gave an academic report. Lecturer profile

Professor Cheng has engaged in the research of Uranium-series technology for many years; developed the world-leading U-series mass spectrometry technology; provided many important and accurate absolute chronological scales of late Quaternary climate change as well as accurate measurement technology of some extreme-microelementin geological samples like seawater. He is also one of the world's leading experts in stalagmite palaeoclimate research and has made many breakthroughs. Besides, he has published more than 430 articles, including 16 papers in Science, 12 papers in Nature, more than 40 papers in the sub-journal of Science and Nature, which has been cited more than 40,000 times (H-factor 88, Google Scholar). He was continuously selected as Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics Global Highly Cited Scientist and Elsevier China Highly Cited Scholar from 2014 to 2019. He ranked 18th in the field of Geoscience (ESI, Science Net).
