Speaker Profile:
Dr. Xiang Lixiong is a postdoctoral researcher at Lanzhou University’s Cuiying Postdoctoral Station, specializing in lake algae and environmental changes. He received his Ph.D. in Geography from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, in June 2023. In August of the same year, he continued his research at the postdoctoral research station in Geography at Lanzhou University. Dr. Xiang is currently leading several research projects, including the Youth Science Foundation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents (Category B), the General Program of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the Central Universities Postdoctoral Innovation Program. To date, he has published 27 academic papers, including 7 articles as the first or corresponding author in SCI journals such as Nature Communications, Quaternary Science Reviews, Fundamental Research, and Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology. As a major contributor (ranked 3/5), his research findings were selected as one of the "Top 10 Research Advances in Chinese Geography in 2023." During his postdoctoral studies, Dr. Xiang engaged in academic exchanges and international cooperative research with the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for international journals such as Quaternary Science Reviews and Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology, actively participating in academic peer review work.
