Reporter Profile:

Dr. Deng Xiaohong is an Associate Research Fellow at the School of Economics, Lanzhou University, and a Specially Appointed Research Fellow at the Gansu Province Qilian Mountains Ecological Environment Research Center. She also serves as a Master’s Supervisor and Deputy Secretary-General of the Ecological Restoration Committee of the Chinese Ecological Economics Society. Her research focuses on human geography, ecological economics, and sustainable development.Dr. Deng has led two National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, one sub-project under the National Key R&D Program, one NSFC Regional Joint Key Fund project, and nine provincial/ministerial-level projects. She has published over 40 academic papers, including more than 20 as first/corresponding author, with 7 articles indexed in SCI journals (e.g.,Agricultural Water Management) and 3 in CSSCI journals. She has also co-authored two translated monographs and drafted multiple policy advisory reports adopted by provincial-level authorities.Her accolades include the Second Prize of the 17th Gansu Provincial Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences (1st rank), the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Gansu Provincial Department of Water Resources, and the 2023 Outstanding Research Award from the School of Economics, Lanzhou University. She serves as a reviewer for journals such asJournal of Environmental Management,Water Resources Management,Ecological Indicators,Journal of Applied Ecology,Chinese Journal of Ecology, andJournal of Glaciology and Geocryology.
