Reporter Profile:

Wu Lizong, Ph.D., is a senior engineer at the Polar Research Institute of China and the Deputy Director of the National Arctic and Antarctic Data Center. He has long been engaged in cryosphere remote sensing research and data science. He has participated in two Chinese glacier resource surveys and established a catalog database of glaciers and glacial lakes in the Himalayan region. He has participated in the construction of several national-level data centers, including the Western Data Center of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the WDC for Glaciology and Geocryology in Lanzhou, and the National Arctic and Antarctic Data Center. He has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award twice.

Report Abstract:

Focusing on the needs of polar multidisciplinary data management and international cooperation, this report introduces application cases of mining scattered data from literature and converting structured observation data into knowledge bases, exploring methods of "AI for Data" and "Data for AI".
