At the invitation of Department of Hydraulic Engineering, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Prof. Yangxiao Zhou, Senior Hydrogeologist from the IHE DelftInstitute for Water Education (formerly UNESCO-IHE), the Netherlands, visited our university for collaborative research and delivered a lecture.

Yangxiao Zhou is a senior hydrogeologist at the IHE DelftInstitute for Water Education (formerly UNESCO-IHE) in the Netherlands and an adjunct professor at Jilin University, China.
He has long been engaged in research on groundwater monitoring and modeling, sustainable groundwater resource development, groundwater-surface water-vegetation interactions, and the study and application of artificial groundwater recharge. Dr. Zhou has published over 60 SCI papers as first or corresponding author in leading international journals such as Water Resources Research and Journal of Hydrology, along with 29 articles in Chinese journals and 5 academic books. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has taught graduate-level courses on groundwater dynamics, groundwater monitoring and data analysis, and numerical modeling and applications of groundwater. He has also organized numerous international short-term training courses on groundwater monitoring and numerical simulation in various countries. To date, Dr. Zhou has supervised more than 100 master's students and 10 Ph.D. students.
