Reporter Profile:

Zhou Jun is an Associate Researcher and Master's Supervisor at the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS. He is primarily engaged in research on mountain phosphorus cycling and its ecological functions. Since 2010, he has been studying the interrelationships between key processes of phosphorus cycling and vegetation primary succession based on soil chronosequences in glacier retreat areas. He received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Geography, Lanzhou University (2006), and his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2018 to 2019, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Western Australia. In 2020, he was awarded the title of "Sichuan Provincial Overseas High-Level Talents", and in 2022, he was selected as a "CAS Western Young Scholar". He has presided over and completed five projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including one Key Program (Project). His research findings have been published in renowned journals such as Trends in Ecology & EvolutionGlobal Change BiologyJournal of Ecology, and Geoderma. He has contributed to four monographs and one translated work. Additionally, he serves as an editorial board member for journals including Plant and Soil and Earth Critical Zone, a reviewer for the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Czech Science Foundation, and an agricultural project review expert for the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
