Reporter Profile:
Wang Xunming is a Researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS. He serves as the Director of the Key Laboratory of Water Cycle and Related Land Surface Processes, a Distinguished Researcher at CAS, and a Professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has held (or currently holds) positions such as member of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (formerly the Institute of Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research), CAS, member of the Degree Committee of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, and Adjunct Professor at Lanzhou University and Beijing Normal University. He has led and completed more than 10 projects, including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Key R&D Program, the CAS Key Research Program of Frontier Sciences, and the CAS Special Program. He has published over 60 first-author SCI papers in journals such as Nature Communications, Earth-Science Reviews, and Global Environmental Change. His research focuses on desertification and its control.
