He Shenjing is Professor (holding the Madam Rosanna Ho Yick‑ho Fund Professorship) at the University of Hong Kong, a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, UK. She serves as Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Design, Director of the Hong Kong Base of the National Key Laboratory of Subtropical Building and Urban Science, and Director of the Social Infrastructure Laboratory for Promoting Equity and Well‑being. Her research interests include social infrastructure equity, urban regeneration, urban–rural governance, housing and well‑being, climate resilience, and healthy cities. She has authored 5 books and published over 200 papers in both Chinese and English. She has been listed among the Clarivate top 1% highly cited scholars from 2016 to 2025 and has been included in the World's Top 2% Scientists list from 2020 to 2025. She holds chair positions in several international academic organizations, including APSA, APNHR, and UCRN. Since 2023, she has been Co‑Editor‑in‑Chief of Area Development and Policy, served as an Editor of Urban Studies from 2012 to 2024, acted as Associate Editor of the Journal of Rural Studies, and serves on the editorial boards of multiple international journals.
