On November 10 and 17, 2025, Professor Zhao Lin from the School of Geographical Sciences at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology delivered the course Introduction to Cryospheric Science for the undergraduate cohort of 2023 at Qinling Hall, Yuzhong Campus, Lanzhou University.

Professor Zhao provided a comprehensive and detailed exposition on the formation and development processes of the cryosphere, covering the conditions governing the formation and evolution of snow cover, glaciers, permafrost, and sea, river, and lake ice, as well as cryospheric evolution across different spatial and temporal scales. Additionally, he shared insights into the scientific spirit of Professor Zhou Youwu, a pioneering first-generation permafrost specialist in China, emphasizing his unwavering dedication to original aspirations and pursuit of excellence.
