On March 10, 2026, the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences held a faculty and staff meeting for the Spring Semester of 2026 in the lecture hall of Shaw Science Building at the West Campus of Chengguan Campus. The meeting conveyed and studied the spirit of recent important university meetings and documents, and made arrangements for the school's key tasks in 2026. All faculty and staff attended the meeting, which was chaired by the person in charge of the School Party Committee.

Dean Li Yu conveyed the spirit of the university-wide work conference and outlined the key priorities for the university in 2026, while also making arrangements for the 80th anniversary celebration of the School. He emphasized that 2026 marks the opening year of the "15th Five-Year Plan", a crucial year for implementing the spirit of Lanzhou University's 11th Party Congress and accelerating the "Double First-Class" initiative, as well as the founding anniversary year for many of the University's advantageous and distinctive disciplines. These four significant milestones are closely tied to the School's development. The School has designated 2026 as the "Anniversary Year" and called on all faculty and staff to unite and work together, proactively benchmarking against leading domestic institutions and global frontiers. Efforts will be made to further clarify the "2+2" disciplinary development framework (two academic degree programs at the first-level discipline and two professional degree programs), continue optimizing the disciplinary and program structure, accelerate the development of innovative and micro programs, and fully leverage disciplinary strengths to serve major national strategic needs, striving forward with momentum into the new "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
Party Secretary Shi Zhaojun conveyed the key messages from the university's launch meeting on studying and implementing the correct outlook on achievements, and delivered a special session on teacher ethics and professional conduct. He emphasized that all faculty and staff should further unify their thinking, raise awareness, and strengthen safety safeguards.

The meeting also commended the award-winning teams and individuals of the first "Li Jijun·Truth-Seeking Education Award" the third "Outstanding Undergraduate Internship Team", and the first "Outstanding Undergraduate Course Teaching Award".
