At the invitation of Researcher Li Xin from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Nian Yanyun from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Professor Du Shihong from Peking University visited our university for academic exchange and delivered a lecture on July 29, 2025.

Reporter Profile:
Du Shihong is a Boya Distinguished Professor and doctoral supervisor at Peking University, and a Changjiang Scholars Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education. He was selected for the Beijing Nova Program (2009) and the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by the Ministry of Education (2010). He has led multiple national key R&D programs, National 863 Programs, national major special projects, and National Natural Science Foundation projects. His research focuses on intelligent analysis of spatio-temporal big data, urban remote sensing and sustainable urban development, and ecological environment remote sensing. He has published over 100 academic papers (69 as first/corresponding author in SCI/SSCI journals), authored 2 monographs, and received one First Prize for Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Progress Award. He serves as an Associate Editor for Transactions in GIS, and on the editorial boards for Remote Sensing of Environment and Journal of Geovisualization and Spatial Analysis. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Cartography and GIS Professional Committee of the Geographical Society of China, and the Vice Chairman of the Ecological Remote Sensing Monitoring and Assessment Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. He is a reviewer for over 30 international SCI journals, including IJGIS, GeoInformatica, TGIS, CEUS, RSE, IEEE TGARS, ISPRS P&RS, and IEEE JSTARS.
