Reporter Profile:
Zhang Liqiang, Ph.D., is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University. He received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2004, under the supervision of Academician Xu Guanhua and Researcher Yang Chongjun. His teaching and research interests mainly focus on GIS spatio-temporal analysis, remote sensing image/point cloud processing, and environmental and public health. He has undertaken major projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and others. His research findings have been published as the first/corresponding author in internationally renowned academic journals and top computer vision conferences, including Nature Sustainability, Nature Cities, Nature Communications, PNAS, Science Bulletin, Remote Sensing of Environment, and IEEE ICCV. He has received academic awards such as the First Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, China, and the First Prize of the Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Innovation Award.
