Reporter Profile:
Pei Junling is a Research Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, and currently serves as Vice Dean of the School of Earth and Planetary Sciences at East China University of Technology. His research has long been centered on paleomagnetism and geochronology, complemented by a range of interdisciplinary approaches, with major interests in tectonics, neotectonics and geological hazards, Antarctic and planetary geology, and, more recently, Earth's habitability.
He has led and completed numerous research projects, including Key, General, and Young Scientists Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), projects under the National Key R&D Program of China, and initiatives supported by the China Geological Survey. He has published more than 140 papers, including over 30 as first or corresponding author in leading international journals such as Geology, Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR), and Tectonics.
He has been recognized as an Innovative Leading Talent by the Ministry of Natural Resources and by Jiangxi Province. He has also participated in five scientific expeditions to Antarctica.
