Reporter Profile:

Yash Dang is a Professor and Principal Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, Australia, with over 30 years of international research experience in soil and nutrient management. He has successfully led more than 20 national-level projects, securing over AUD 50 million (approximately RMB 240 million) in competitive research funding from organizations including GRDC, SWIF, DAWE, and DISER. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Farming Systems and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers. Professor Dang has established long-term, solid collaborations with Soil Science Australia, FarmLab, government agencies, and over 430 farms across Australia. His research focuses on soil constraints, soil organic carbon stock assessment, and sustainable land management. He is currently leading Australia's national "Carbon Challenge" program, using proximal and remote sensing technologies to achieve low-cost measurement of soil organic carbon. In addition, he heads several research projects funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) in the Northern Grains Region, covering topics such as identification and management of soil constraints, conservation agriculture, strategic tillage, and sustainable agricultural management practices.
