Reporter Profile:
Li Tong is currently a GRDC Early Career Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, Australia. He received his Ph.D. from Griffith University, Australia, in 2024. His research focuses primarily on soil ecology. To date, he has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers and has a Google Scholar h-index of 24. He has been invited to serve as Guest Editor for special issues of several international journals, including Earth's Future. He also serves as Associate Editor of Land Degradation & Development (LDD, IF: 3.7), Subject Editor for Engineering (IF: 11.6), and Youth Editor for The Innovation (IF: 25.7), actively contributing to academic leadership in the fields of ecology and agricultural sustainability. Dr. Li has led and participated in a number of internationally influential research projects, including the Australian Government Soil Carbon Innovation Challenge, projects funded by the Australia–China Relations Institute, and the University of Queensland–Technical University of Munich International Exchange Program. His honors and awards include the President's Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad, the Scott Piper Best Publication Award, and the CERN Best Paper Award.
