On October 14 and 21, 2024, Professor Zhao Lin from the School of Geographical Sciences, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, delivered lectures onIntroduction to Cryosphere Scienceto second-year undergraduate students of the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lanzhou University. The lectures took place in Room B515, Qinling Hall, Yuzhong Campus.

During the lectures, Professor Zhao provided a comprehensive and detailed explanation of the formation and development of the cryosphere, covering aspects such as snow cover, glaciers, permafrost, and river, sea, and lake ice. He also delved into the evolutionary processes of the cryosphere at different scales. Additionally, he shared the pioneering contributions of Mr. Zhou Youwu, one of China's first-generation permafrost scientists, emphasizing his dedication to scientific integrity and pursuit of excellence.
