November 11, 2024, at the invitation of Professor Mu Cuicui from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Professor Luo Yong from Tsinghua University delivered lectures onIntroduction to Cryosphere Scienceto second-year undergraduate students at Lanzhou University. The lectures were held in Room B515, Qinling Hall, Yuzhong Campus.

Professor Luo provided an in-depth and comprehensive explanation of cryosphere component models and projections of cryosphere changes. Key topics included climate system models, cryosphere component models, cryosphere process simulations, and climate change attribution. Drawing on the latest research advancements, he systematically introduced projections of climate change and anticipated changes in cryosphere components such as sea ice, snow cover, and permafrost.
