At the invitation of Professor Nian Yanyun from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, Professor Mou Naixia from Shandong University of Science and Technology visited the university on November 25, 2024. During the visit, Professor Mou delivered an academic lecture titled"Research on Tourist Mobility Behavior from a Social Perception Perspective and Experiences in Academic Writing"in Conference Room 1615, Guanyun Building, Chengguan Campus. The lecture was hosted by Professor Nian Yanyun.
Professor Mou provided a comprehensive overview of the significance of big data in tourism research and explained how big data can be utilized to analyze tourist mobility behavior from a social perception perspective. He began by introducing the basic concepts of tourism data and then presented the research outcomes of his team over recent years on tourism flows and tourist behavior. Additionally, Professor Mou discussed challenges in big data research, such as data bias and data deserts, and shared his insights and outlook for future studies. In the latter part of the lecture, he offered valuable advice on identifying research topics, academic writing, and selecting appropriate journals for publication.
After the lecture, Professor Mou engaged in lively discussions with the attending faculty and students, addressing their questions about academic writing. Attendees expressed that the lecture provided valuable insights and new perspectives for their research and future career development.
